My creative process thrives in community with other artists. From 2016 through 2020 I produced a series of shows with music. Some of the themes we explored were being a trans parent, social media and its influence on art and culture, and how to cope with the apocalypse. The most recent show I created, and wrote short plays and music for (at PianoFight, SF) was an immersive play with music about the lives, processes, and struggles of performing artists. The audience entered the venue and were immediately part of the story and could choose to be part of the show on stage as well.

My practice calls for me to continuously work on improving myself and my craft. In 2019 I was accepted into Director’s Lab West in Pasadena, an 8 day workshop designed to equip theater makers with new tools for collaborating, choreographing, and creating safe spaces. For the past two years, every Saturday morning I join my writing class to write for an hour. I’ve been a theater maker for most of my life. Some of my critical influences are Jane Wagner, Samuel Beckett, Tennessee Williams, Caryl Churchill, and Annie Baker. As a mom of an 8 year old boy I’ve been especially inspired by the work and essays of Sarah Ruhl, also a mom. I’m also inspired by my friend and collaborator on MixTape, San Francisco playwright Megan Cohen.
